Comment of the Week, Wednesday Edition

Among the numerous suggestions that have been made for the challenges LANS needs to address (diversification, bringing overhead costs down, improving efficiency, etc.) I came across this dark little nugget on the A Black Belt in What!?! post:

The main challenge for LANS, given declining NNSA weapons budgets, is how to get rid of excess scientists and engineers.

  4. Absolutely! Once they have gotten rid of all of those troublesome scientists and engineers (nobody ever spilled aqua regia in the Otowi building) the lab can get down to its real mission of ....

  6. 1:14pm - that was what I really like under the empire of Admiral Butthead: catchy bumper stickers. But maybe we should change them into "workfree managed safety zones" to reflect our current thriving atmosphere.
