What is this?
ReplyDeleteIt's a program designed to compensate workers for the adverse health effects associated with their employment in the nuclear industy. Never mind that some of these same workers may have ignored safety rules or turned on fellow workers who may have tried to blow the whistle on unsafe practices.
ReplyDeleteDetails please!
ReplyDeleteThis is yet another health study of LANL workers. It has been going on at all the major DOE/NSA sites for several years. The plan at LANL has been in preparation for several months, with many LASO people poeple involved, but not many LANL folks, just the epidemiologists, the health historians, and the lawyers. Also some security people because of the need to access classified records.
ReplyDeleteThe really stupid aspect of this, is that just like the CDC work that followed on the heels of the Human Studies Project, they refuse to admit evidence from previous studies, but must "touch all original data" themselves. What an incredible waste of taxpayer money! All their questions have already been thoroughly researched and answered, but no, they must come to "original" conclusions. What crap!
This is not a health study. This a program to to compensate workers for illnesses and death caused by working with radioactive materials, beryllium, silicon, or toxic chemicals. A claimant may be awarded $150,000 under part B of the Act and an additional $250,000 under part E. The act also pays for medical expenses.

Are there any details available on the workers who have ignored safety rules or turned on fellow workers who may have tried to blow the whistle on unsafe practices.
ReplyDeleteAnd what's this about the Human Studies Project 11:09PM?
What do you think? As you already well know, LANL employees, especially all the scientists are dumb as a stump, smoking weed all day, juggling Pu with bare hands, shooting YAG lasers at students for fun, wasting taxpayers money, glow in the dark, are rich as Bill Gates,...
ReplyDeleteDid I miss any prejudice?
Sexual orientation, 10:25. You missed that one.
