Your wish; our command, yadda, yadda...

Good luck in whipping up any kind of sense of outrage over this, dear requester. Nanos couldn't do it with his trumped-up rationale for shutting the lab down for 7 months. NNSA, DOE and LANS couldn't do it with their overt plans to turn post-Nanos LANL into RFP-South.

But as always, we are here to serve.

Gus and Pinky, please make this a new top post; "For sale: West´s deadly nuclear secrets," from The Sunday Times, January 6, 2008, first four paragraphs reads, (5 pages in total):

"A WHISTLEBLOWER has made a series of extraordinary claims about how corrupt government officials allowed Pakistan and other states to steal nuclear weapons secrets.

Sibel Edmonds, a 37-year-old former Turkish language translator for the FBI, listened into hundreds of sensitive intercepted conversations while based at the agency´s Washington field office.

She approached The Sunday Times last month after reading about an Al-Qaeda terrorist who had revealed his role in training some of the 9/11 hijackers while he was in Turkey.

Edmonds described how foreign intelligence agents had enlisted the support of US officials to acquire a network of moles in sensitive military and nuclear institutions."

I've seen articles about Sibel Edmonds before in the news media. She seems extremely flakey to me. It's not worth putting much faith into her wild accusations.

This is nothing but sensationalized journalism with very poor vetting of a so-called expert by a UK newspaper. Most of the UK papers seem to have decided to sink to National Enquirer levels. Wild stories and sexy pictures of semi-naked woman with tits and ass seems to sell very well in the UK news market. I doubt you'll find either the Washington Post or the New York Times touching this story.

This is a bunch of crap. Sibel has been around for awhile saying this kind of stuff and it leads nowhere.

Quick...kill the whistleblower! We don't need their kind in our closed nuclear community. We in Los Alamos are the undisputed patriarch of this community, and so we must shoulder the responsibility of killing the messenger, no matter when or where these pathetic do-gooders may surface. Outrage!...that’s what we must feel when these "trolls" surface in our midst. How dare these non team players (aka whistleblowers) expose our dirty laundry to the world? Not on my watch, I say! In our business, truth must always take a back seat to funding. That's rule one. How else are we to maintain our standard of living? You think you make millionaires by catering to the belly aching of whiners. I don't think so! These are gems of wisdom I'm sharing with all you little people now—something we movers and shakers at the Lab learned a long, long time ago while at the DOE, UC, Bechtel or wherever it is we come from. Oppi was the first casualty. How ironic, don't you think? Remember him? Nah, probably not. What the hell, we’ve made plenty of money since then, haven’t we? That's all that matters. Here's another little gem: I learned a long time ago that good leaders know what's important to the sheeple. Rule one--keep them well fed and they’ll tolerate sheering, castration, and periodic culling of the heard. But then never forget to share the wealth with our masters in Congress. Any threat to our economic interests and their electibility will always be a threat to national security. Simple as that. And beyond that, nobody really cares. So you all can go back to sleep now. Just know that the nuclear kingdom remains in good hands. Sleep now..sleeeep...sleeeep...sleeep..

Dear 1/7/08 10:42 AM

That post was real cute, trite and all that. You logic is always crystal clear ... ;). However, it does not validate anything that Sibel is saying and I don't think anyone besides some British tabloid cares. Maybe she is just another Tommy Hook.

11:09AM, once again your brilliant assessment of events isn't difficult to overlook. Denial is a terrible waste of time and space but then again, you must be among the best and brightest at LANL. So who are we to question?

And once again you do not have any point or observation that is based on any kind of reason, thought, or logic. Just a vapid inults and fallacies. It sounds like you are the one in denial.

Apparently you were full of shit and could not answer my challenge.

Hopefully you are part of the deadwood, and you are being removed.
