It would be interesting to know how many of those in the excluded category will now retire or otherwise move on even without an incentive. That will be the best indicator of how much trouble the lab and real national nuclear security is in.
It would be nice to see this list sorted by percentage of employees, um, "targeted."
For those of you who are thinking of taking the buyout, I hope that you fully understand the ramifications of selling a house in Los Alamos AFTER the voluntary and involuntary RIFs.
One would assume that people in "exluded" positions would not be subject to the involuntary RIF.
So, no matter how lazy and/or incompetent such individuals might be, they will continue to be employed at LANL.
This is the kind of management that we are getting for the additional $71M management fee!
Take your Directorate COCS line item category from this list, look at the percentage to be targeted for this line item category and then see where you fall in the ORC scores for your specific slot.
If you have a low ORC score that falls within the percentage bounds of those to be targeted, then the odds are strong you'll be seeing a pink slip in the very near future.
Sorting by percentage of employees targeted and other variables was the reason that I wanted to get the list into Excel.
I hope to have the data that you want by Monday.
Can we have a "line item veto"?
This will be the format for the next set of Riff's to come in late Jan.08, the differance being that they can use "program cuts instead of ORC scores" if they so choose, so my friends we are all at risk...and will be for the next few years, what a way to live huh?
The initial round of sorting and charting is done on the RIF sheets. I could put a couple of interesting charts here if someone could explain how to upload them.
Poster 10:15 AM, you sound bitter. I'm guessing you didn't make the cut to the "exclusion" lists.
Regardless, LANS will eventually declare open season on all positions at LANL. It's just a matter of time.
