Big News!

This just in: No plans for "Yak Trax Training".

WSST Chairs,

Please help spread the word to dispel the rumor that Yak Trax Training will be required.

There is no such thing as "Yak Trax Training" and the institution WILL NOT require that folks take training before they can use their Yak Trax.

Thank you,
Felicia Taw
Chair, LANL Worker Safety and Security Team

Over 2,000 Yak Trax Walkers Distributed
Thanks to the Director's Office and numerous associate directors who have helped purchase Yak Trax walkers, the Worker Safety and Security Team has been able to distribute more than 2,000 walkers to employees. Please follow the directions that come with the walkers and remember not to wear them indoors.

"There will be no Yak Trax training, and there are no plans for doing any Yak Trax training!"

So we can't clean the sidewalks but we can equip all employees with Yak Trax.

I understand that Los Alamos County is planning on removing all their dispatch folks from the EOC because sidewalks and the parking lot are not being cleaned and are dangerous. If a County employee gets hurt because of ice, then LANL is responsible, unless, of course, County employees are required to wear Yak Trax.

I'm sure Lab Legal has kept a list of everyone who got a Yak Trax. You didn't think LANS was handing them out just for their ice safety aspect, did you?

Ice? In the bedroom? Come on if we need to be trained on the proper use of Yak Trax - then we all need a lesson on what to do with our wives.
